Madison Garden Center got it's start in a tiny house on Highway 51 in the city of Madison. After 8 years at this location, Nick Thompson, decided it was time to expand and move to it's current location on Madison Avenue, across from Liberty Park.
Being the only garden center in the City of Madison, we focus on providing customer service, quality plant material, durable furniture, weather resistant pottery/concrete, a variety of soils and mulches, etc.
Madison Garden Center has been in business 20+ years and has been going strong ever since. Our staff at Madison Garden Center have 50+ combined years of expertise in gardening and horticulture.

nick thompson

Nick's passion for gardening and landscaping started in high school working part-time at a small garden center in Pascagoula, MS, Gallaspy's Store. After finishing his business degree, he received his first post-college job. He worked for BWI, a distributor for pesticides, fertilizers, horticulture and landscaping related items. Nick then went on after leaving BWI to open Madison Garden Center in 1998. He has been the owner to this day! He is a Mississippi Certified Nursery Professional and has over 25 years of green industry experience. Come see Nick for your specific plant needs and for any issues pertaining to lawn and yard maintenance and design.

Nancy has been working at Madison Garden Center full-time since 2012 and has over 10 years garden experience. Along with her extensive plant knowledge, she also has a keen eye for outdoor design. Nancy is our main buyer for all of our outdoor furniture, pottery, concrete, birding, and gift shop items. Come talk to Nancy for custom cushions and design.

Mike has worked at Madison Garden Center for over 10 years. He started working here while attending Holmes Comunity College. After graduating from Ole Miss, Mike came back to work our store manager. He is involved in ordering plants, furniture, pottery, and plants. He is also a Certified Nursery Professional. Graham comes to us with 8+ years of experience with agriculture, specifically in organic and urban gardening. He also manages a cut flower farm for the Mississippi Urban Forest Council. His continued passion for horticulture and customer service allows Graham to guide our customers in selecting the right plants for their gardens.
