about the planting diagram
We are often asked what we suggest for planting new plants. Here we have provided a diagram for your convenience. First, dig a hole that is 2x the width of the pot and 1x the depth of the pot. Next, blend your native soil 50/50 with soil conditioner and backfill the hole so the top of the root ball is about 2 inches higher than ground level before putting your plant in the hole. Then, fill in around the root ball with all remaining soil covering any exposed roots and making a mound around the outside of the root ball. We also suggest 3 fertilizer tablets with each 3 gallon plant; 5 tablets for each 7 gallon; 8 for each 12 gallon. Make sure to push them about 2 inches into the soil after planting. Make sure to water in the growing season at least twice a week and in the summer at least 3-4 times a week.
